The Angenome project is a look into a speculative future, one where humans and a species of plants exist in symbiosis, this relationship shapes everything from the body itself, to the architecture and cities we inhabit.



Chapter 1 - Prosthesis

The first task was to create the character that would inhabit our speculative narrative, in our case, a half-man half plant, in perfect symbiosis with the "symbiophytes" a new genus of plants that can form a symbiotic link with humans, taking over some of their core functions. This character has bio-implants to improve and monitor this link.

Chapter 2 - Corpuscule

The requirements were to create the living environement of the characters created in chapter one, both exterior and interior, including the furinture and other objects that may be used in this environment.

Chapter 3 - Amalgamation

Chapter 3 focused on the use of Grasshopper and the WASP plugin to computationally aggregate variations of the units made in chapter 2 to form a cohesive neighbourhood. The units were aggregated according to a defined ruleset which linked parts to one another. These were then brought into blender and made into instances using the Sverchok computational add-on.

Chapter 4 - Kinesis


We were tasked with designing the vehicles, transportation networks, and docking stations associated with our neighbourhood. The tasks was split in two with requirements to make one private and one public vehicle. This chapter made use of houdini almost exclusively

Chapter 5 - Cosmogony

For the final chapter we were asked to make a city scale map of our world, using the Nuclei Grasshopper plugin, as well as our own C# scripting within Grasshopper. The map was to include at least three different levels of networks, as well as designated zones for different purposes/ activites.
