Early development for the project looked at a range of home appliances. Three were chosen, an electric grill, an iron, and a kettle were chosen, for their simillarity of internal construction. Essentially just a heating element, thermostat and fuse in different combinations. The iron was chosen for further development as it presented the most interesting challenges with the steam function.
